ELF Daily Brush Cleaner

ELF Daily Brush Cleaner, $3, eyeslipsface.com

So this is a WoC post. I have made mention of my current love- cosmetics. yes, sucked into the world of cosmetics. Tragic. What does that involve? Lots of reviews, colors, swatches, brands. That goes for both face products, and tools. Brushes. Makeup brushes. MAKEUP BRUSHES! Yes, I just want to shout it out! They're the fizizzle! The shizzle dizzle!

.... ohmmm... ohm... ohm... ok. Back to earth.

Directions and ingredients.
I've acquired a few brushes- will post about those soonish. Should've posted about those first, I guess. My bad :P

Makeup brushes can be quite an investment, and to get the most out of them, you're gonna have to give them a bunch of TLC. Proper care of these brushes can not only extend their lifespan, but could also lead to better makeup application and healthier facial skin. Let's face it, dirty brushes = bacteria. Bacteria = pimples. Pimples = ...no. Simple as that.

It's not like you're gonna wash and shampoo your brushes after every use, unless you use them, oh, say once or twice a week. They take a bit long to dry, and using them damp is also a no-no. So what do you do after using them? Spot clean.

Spot cleaning doesn't completely and thoroughly clean your brushes, but they do help kill germs. They sanitize the brushes to some extent, to prevent it from harboring bacteria.

Ready, aim, fire!
Spritz, spritz!

I may not know much about makeup or brushes, or skin care, but I do know that I breakout easily. And I'm still enjoying my foray to WoC to let pimples get in the way. Hence, I bought myself a nifty makeup brush spot cleaner- ELF's Daily Brush Cleaner.

ELF Daily Brush Cleaner. I am quite happy with my few ELF brushes, and at $3 a pop, they're a steal! The brush cleaner is also $3, so I didn't really have to think about it. It's packaged in a sleek plastic bottle, with an atomizer cap. The mist spray thing means you use only little of the product. Bang for your buck, baby.
No tripod, by myself. Yeah, I wasted a bit of the product for this shot.

The water-based brush cleaner is meant for daily use, or however often you deem needed. Just give your used brushes a few spritz, no need to get stingy on the product, now. Don't spray too close! Give a few inches distance, that way, the cleaning solution is well distributed all throughout the brush bristles. After that, run your brushes on a clean cloth, to remove some of the cosmetic product from the bristles.
Run the brush over a clean cloth, while damp from the cleaner.

The cleaning solution smells quite good, which is a plus for me. Others may not appreciate the fragrant scent (I'm trying to figure out which essence it is, but it's there), I like it. It has alcohol, but not so potent that it would damage your makeup brush bristles. The disinfecting quality should help with possible breakouts/bacteria.

It doesn't remove ALL the makeup off your brushes, especially if you're using oil based liquid foundation. Only deep cleaning or shampooing can do that. But you do see that it breaks down some of the makeup that's left on your brush, and leaves them in the cloth after. (common sense? yeah)
Just give it a swirl on the cloth

The brushes airdry quickly. You don't have to hang them upside down. Just store them as you usually would, bristles up.

This is the first brush spot-cleaner that I've encountered, so I can't compare it with other products. I've been using it for a few days now and I'm pretty happy with it. Let's see if it becomes a staple on my vanity. :)

Yay! Done spot cleaning!

Of cervixes, menstrual bleeding, cups, and talks that make men leave the room.

If the title didn't tip you off, I'll be talking about 'womanly stuff' right now. And I'm talking bout the heavy stuff- bleeding, cramps, tampons, insertion of foreign objects. If that makes you uncomfortable, skip this. If you're a grown woman, then I highly suggest you take a look. What you see or learn about your body may surprise you, and who knows, this might very well be beneficial to you.

Gah! Gah! GAH!

GAAAH! I have not posted a single entry since the last time I have posted an entry about not having posted several entries. Darn, I'm so lousy at this.

First makeup brush I've tried!
So what has been happening... well, I got sucked into the World of Cosmetics (WoC) some more. I have acquired my first makeup brush (well, not my first purchase but since those took too long to get here, off I went to Watson's for this) - the ELF Studio Stipple brush, and I haven't stopped there. I can't quite see clearly when I'll stop. The road ahead is foggy. Especially since I'm anticipating a box full of goodies any time soon :D

The Little K has been rowdier than ever. Her vocabularies expanding like bam! And wouldn't you know, she makes up her own word as she sees fit like her Mom :) Some examples: Ofeh-mom = Hanger. Alofay = Pillowfight. Loading = Wait. Damidamikalat = Toys. Opedol = open... anything! And a bunch more
Playtime!

The most mind blowing thing byfar was that Little K's Dad dropped by. Unannounced. At two in the morning. With an overnight bag in tow. #wtf

Color me shell shocked. In mossy green.

It was a good few days of bonding between the Dad and DD. Not just good, pretty well considering the last time they met was roughly 18 months ago. Just like Little K! LOL! The Dad did panic when Little K started crying and it was just the two of them. He went a bit overboard asking the play gym staff for help to find me. Gosh. He needs a new mantra- keep calm and ohm! Will tell him that.

We took the Little K to Tagaytay. Her first visit there. First time to go on horseback as well (I wore her using our Ergo).

I crossed a milestone this month, and no, not my first makeup brush purchase. I finally threw the white towel and went ahead and shopped for pants that fit. I'm not the jeans-wearing type of girl. I have a closet full of dresses, and another closet full of dresses that no longer fit. Attached, much? I'm hoping they'll magically fit in the future. Anyway, I have about 2-3 pairs of jeans, which have been used probably once each since 2011. I tried fitting them this year and they. just. don't. FIT! They're all four, yes FOUR sizes too small! GAWD!

Mom, you need a retouch!

Acceptance came slow and hard but I finally got there, dreadful as it was. Got myself ONE pair of jeans at size 31. Shhhh, here's a secret, I think I'm a 31.5"-32" :P

I wasn't able to schedule Little K's Firefighting shoot for March (Fire awareness month) so I might try to make up for that this summer.

Hmm... I think that's about it. At least I got something posted today!

Impromptu Hiatus

So I missed a few days post. Or 10. 20. 50? I lost count. I could blame the epi again, but that's just abuse of power :P

I actually have been destressing. It was the Little K's Sweet 16th month last January 26 (a few days before I disappeared from the World of Blog, WoB), and we took her out for a short trip. Only, this trip's a little farther than our usual NLEX crossing.

We kinda crossed the South China Sea, all the way to Macau and Hong Kong. Yay for Little K's first international trip! The trip itself?

Little K's 恭喜发财!

Big Little K: Woow! I want one, too! Brella!
That's "Gong Hei Fatt Choi", if you don't read script like that. Like me :P Course, google makes me look smart with those Cantonese text. It means  we wish you prosperity and happiness. Quite a popular Chinese New Year greeting.

Ni hao! Ola! Aloha! Como estas!
Filipino: Mwah mwah tsup tsup!

It's that time of the year again where tikoys and moon cakes and feng shui ornaments are all about ...except in our house, it seems. I saw a mooncake tin container, but no mooncake inside. Scoured the fridge for tikoy, cooked or

I Heart Palengke!

Trinkets that hopefully gets put to good use.
The Tiara on the front of the photo, far left, costs P15.00!

"Palengke" is such a stinky word. Most people would find it synonymous to grime, mud, dirt, sweat, noise, and yeah- stink. There was a time when I'd scrunch up my face whenever I say the word- out of reflex. Today, I am waaaay past that. The local Wet/Dry Public Market and I are in good terms.

Of Cupid Wings And Cookie Butter

February is JUST around the corner, safe to say luuuurve is in the air! Yep? No? Nevermind. This isn't some loveydovey sappy post. It's about the monthly photo shoot theme for my DD, Little K.

Last Christmas- ok we're not singing either. Last Christmas, I was a bit late with my ecard greetings. By 'a bit', I mean I sent mine out the first week of January 2013. By 'sending out', I mean uploading on some social networking site <ehem facebook ehem> and tagging friends and relatives in the picture. What can I say, the previous December was just. So. Hectic! Couldn't get anything done right. And taking pictures of the Little K when my foot's just halfway through the door (and hers are fighting and kicking for a way out) is never gonna cut it.

It's mocking me. I can tell. I'm not paranoid and it's not the cookie butter.
The darn thing's mocking me and my lack of elmer's glue!
